Pre-Employment Training Program

The Pre-employment Training Program is delivered over 4 weeks at Quetico Centre and is grounded in First Nation’s knowledge, culture and ceremonies. It will provide foundational learning to give participants skills, knowledge and confidence to find employment in the project. It includes holistic knowledge and strategies on maintaining health and wellness as an employee. Topics will include: Energy Sector Jobs, Construction Jobs, Wellness (physical, mental, emotional and spiritual), goal setting, communication, teamwork, conflict resolution, foundational life skills, financial literacy, work skills, resume writing, applying for a job, and adapting to life in a camp. Applicants must be double vaccinated to meet Health and Safety requirements.


Opiikapawiin Services’ Employment team visited the Youth (18-30 years) trainees of the 4th regional session of Pre-Employment Training (PET) to assist them with creating a profile for the Project’s Labour Pool. Part of the Pre-Employment Training also includes learning skills such as resume writing and applying for a job!
